She tried on an evening pair, some strapped ones and several others, but none of them fitted her feet any better. Finally she massaged one high-heeled shoe against one bare foot. It eased the pain and Rachel felt better at last. But there would not have been any of these problems if she could have stayed at home like she wanted. There she could have been a good wife and worn shoes of her choice - not uncomfortable business ones
