Hague says the U.S. is in a unique position in the ongoing Gaza conflict, due to its crucial leverage with Israel. And with tension in the region at its highest point in years, he feels this may be the last chance for any form of resolution. Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi continues to face violent protests over his decision to take over the nation_s court system. Although Morsi became the country_s first democratically-elected leader back in June, critics say this recent decree of executive power is giving him near dictator-like powers. In a surprise move, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak has announced he_ll quit politics come January. The high-profile leader - who once served as the country_s prime minister - says he made the decision to spend more time with his family, and to give the government a much-needed change in power. And Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff has fired a number of senior officials over allegations of fraud and influence peddling. The move comes after six high-level employees were arrested last Friday for allegedly selling government permits to businesses in exchange for bribes. Since taking office last year, Rousseff has been steadily cracking down on corruption in Brazil_s public sector. Back to you, Laura.
